Nichola Trainer

Nichola specialises in autism and ADHD diagnostic assessment and has been practising in neurodevelopmental assessment for almost five years. At Neurodiverse You, she works with young people (10+) and adults, delivering thorough, neuro-affirming assessments both online and face-to-face.

She has a particular interest in masking and more nuanced presentations of autism, particularly where individuals have been overlooked or misunderstood. Her assessments are collaborative, person-centred, and grounded in lived context as well as clinical evidence.

Before qualifying as a Social Worker (SSSC, 2018), Nichola spent 14 years supporting autistic adults with learning disabilities, developing strong practical insight into long-term developmental support.

Nichola brings both clinical expertise and lived experience of neurodivergence to her work, helping to create an assessment space that feels respectful, safe, and genuinely understanding for young people and adults alike.
