Jummy Williams
Non-Executive Director
BSc Pharmacology | Diploma in Social Work | AMHP
Jummy brings over four decades of academic and professional experience across health and social care. She began her academic journey with a BSc in Pharmacology from the University of Lagos, giving her a strong foundation in medical sciences and an early understanding of the interaction between physical health, emotional wellbeing, and systems of care.
While living in Atlanta, USA, she became increasingly drawn to work centred around care, dignity, and human connection. This led her to pursue formal training in Social Work upon returning to the UK, where she qualified in 2004 and later achieved Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) status in 2007.
Jummy has gained extensive experience working within secondary mental health services, specialist community teams, and the forensic mental health pathway, supporting individuals and families from diverse backgrounds and across the lifespan.
Her work has often required balancing complex emotional, relational, and risk-related dynamics with sensitivity and sound judgement. She is recognised for her calm presence, thoughtful decision-making, and unwavering commitment to honesty, integrity, and respect.
Jummy joins NDY as a Non-Executive Director, bringing a steady, reflective, and values-anchored presence to the board. She listens deeply, speaks with intention, and approaches situations with a combination of clarity and compassion.
Outside of her professional role, Jummy is a devoted family woman who enjoys cooking and creative expression through art.
